Dear GSPCMTN Members, With great sadness, I must share with you that one of our long-time original members, Johnny Johnston, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024. While not all of you have had a chance to meet Johnny, as he has been quite ill for several years, I am sure that our long-time members have fond memories and some funny stories that involved Johnny. I knew him as an expert horseman and a great dog trainer. Johnny loved his family, his friends, his dogs, and Field Trialing. He had a hardy laugh recognized by all as uniquely Johnny’s. The way I saw it, he never met a stranger and seemed to be at ease with everyone. To the pointing dog community, Johnny was a trainer, mentor, and a serious competitor. To many of us, he was a dear friend. Our sincere condolences to June Johnston, Johnny’s wife, and his entire family.
